Fighting cancer with kisses? That is what the Kiss Away Cancer event with Delta Zeta was all about. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Evans atrium. In exchange for chocolate kisses, students could help raise money for the American Cancer Society by making a donation.

Participants, students or not, could apply some lip gloss, provided by the sorority in the form of samples, and kiss the banner to show their involvement in the cause. As well as receiving chocolate kisses, the participants could learn some interesting and eye-opening facts about cancer. For instance, one of facts was that “the number of new cases of cancer is expected to rise by about 70 percent over the next two decades.”

Emily Maynard, a Delta Zeta member, said, “My grandfather had  cancer, so knowing that we can help others is comforting. It can help them find more things in their researches.”

Sophomore Isabelle Lekhal, who participated in the event and donated for the cause, said, “It is a fun idea and it really can help, so it is great.”
