Even before spring is over, record-breaking temperatures in the St. Charles area are making it feel like the dog days of summer.

According to the Charlie Kelly from the National Weather Service in Weldon Spring, the area is well above the average temperature for the month of June. Last year the average was 77.6; this year, averages are around 85. That number rose even higher to an average temperature of 88 from June 10-14.

The greater St. Louis/St. Charles area is under a heat advisory until 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A heat advisory means that a combination of hot temperatures and high humidity are creating a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
