LU Billiards player Brendan Crockett and his brother Jeff were killed in a fatal car crash June 28 on a highway in Agoura Hills, California, according to police.

Brendan Crockett, who  was driving, collided with a tractor-trailer going in the same direction as them. The Crocketts are both from the area, but Brenda Crockett was planning to return to Lindenwood in the fall.

Coach Mark Wilson said Crockett was a “great player then, with the potential to be a star.”

“When he was getting back here in the fall, he was slated to be one of the top players in all of college sports, and it’s just sad to lose such a great young man,” he said.

Brendan was considered a pro billiards player for his play on the United States Junior National Billiards team and this year was a contender for the U.S. National Billiards Team.

In memory of Brendan, the sportsmanship award for billiards program has been officially renamed the Brendan Crockett Character Award.
