The J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts recently announced its 2017-18 professional season.
Tickets will become available online at LUboxoffice.com starting at 9 p.m. on July 31. Starting at 9 a.m. on Aug 7, tickets can be purchased in-person at the Scheidegger Box Office or over the phone at 636-949-4433, according to the announcement.
Sept. 9 — Kenny Loggins
Kenny Loggins won a grammy in 1985 for his song “Footloose.” Loggins has been performing music for more than four decades, part of that time as half of “Loggins and Messina,” a pop-rock duo that sold more than 16 million records.
Sept. 29 — Penn & Teller
These two comedians and magicians have made appearances on shows like “Friends,” “The Simpsons” and “Top Chef.” Together, Penn and Teller have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and have spent more than 40 years together in Las Vegas, on their own television show and across the word.
Oct. 7 — Bob Newhart
Appearances on the “Big Bang Theory” won Bob Newhart his first Emmy award in 2013. At 87 years old, Newhart is marking his 56th year as a stand-up comedian and TV personality. He was the star of two popular sitcoms, “The Bob Newhart Show” and “Newhart.”
Dec. 16 — The Colors of Christmas
A Christmas performance by rhythm and blues artists Peabo Bryson, Marilyn McCoo, Billy Davis Jr., Ruben Studdard and Jody Watley.
Jan. 27 — Wynonna & The Big Noise
Wynonna Judd and her band, “The Big Noise,” released their first full-length album in February 2016. The country singer has sold more than 30 million albums since she launched her music career 33 years ago.
Feb. 24 — Broadway Live!
Broadway performers will be coming to Lindenwood to perform songs from pieces, including “West Side Story,” Wicked,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “The Sound of Music,” Fiddler on the Roof,” “A Chorus Line” and “Guys & Dolls.”
March 17 — The Irish Tenors
This Celtic music ensemble is scheduled to perform on St. Patrick’s Day, 2018. Since their rise to fame after being featured on PBS in 1999, they have produced 10 best-selling CDs and performed across the world.
May 19 — Paul Anka
In 2013 Paul Anka, released the album “Duets,” which featured artists Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Tom Jones, Celine Dion, and Michael Bublé. Now 75 years old, Anka has been part of the music scene for more than 60 years. He is the only artist to have a CD of the Billboard Top 100 Chart for seven consecutive decades.
May 27 — The Glenn Miller Orchestra
This 18-member swing dance band will play both modern arrangements and some original pieces arranged by Glenn Miller. The band was founded in 1938.
