The Lindenwood men’s soccer team dominated Oakland City by the score of 6-0 on Wednesday in Indianapolis.

It took the Lions just six minutes to score as Gabriel Jaimes scored on a cross from Stefan Andric for the first goal of the game.

Lindenwood would score its next three goals in the matter of three minutes with a goal in the 29th minute by Leon Silva to make it 2-0. Then Michele Ganz would score on the penalty kick a minute later and Gabriel Jaimes would score his second goal of the game in the 31st minute to extend the Lions lead to 4-0.

In the 39th minute, Gabriel Jaimes scored his third goal of the game with the assist coming from Jose de Gregorio making it 5-0 just before halftime. Jaimes’s hat trick is the first by a Lions player this season.

The Lions started off the second half with a goal in the 46th minute by Alex Chaitidis, his first goal on the season and the sixth goal of the game by Lindenwood.

Lindenwood had a total of 18 shots with nine on goal, and the defense was strong as they didn’t allow a single shot, according to Lindenwood Athletics.

Ganz has eight goals now on the season in just 10 games.

“I don’t focus on what I’m up against,” Ganz said. “I focus on my goals, and I try to ignore the rest.”

With this win, Lindenwood is now 6-4 on the season. Its next game will be against Fort Hays State University at 11 a.m. on Oct. 8 at Lindenwood.
