The Lindenwood Women’s soccer team drew a hard fought conference match-up Saturday afternoon against Central Oklahoma 2-2.
The Lions would jump out to an early lead after a goal by freshman midfielder, Katie Juhlin, 14 minutes in. The goal was set up by a free kick from 40 yards out by Alaina White, which found the head of Juhlin, who found the back of the net.
It didn’t take long for the Bronchos to respond as just six minutes later the Bronchos would tie the game on a low shot that went through McGilvray, to tie the game at 1.
Midway through the second half Central Oklahoma would find the back of the net once again, this time in the 64th minute, to give the Bronchos a 2-1 edge.
In the 78th minute, the Lions were awarded a free kick and the ball would be sent in by Jordan Wipke. That ball would find the leg of senior forward, Becky Roberts, and she would tie the game 2-2.
After no goals were scored in extra time, the game would end 2-2.
Mary McGilvray finished with nine saves.
The Lions move to 4-7-1 on the season overall and 1-3-1 in conference play. The next game for the Lions will be another conference game as they will face Washburn at 7 p.m. on Friday at Harlen C. Hunter Stadium.
