Five reasons to leave your dorm this week

Here are five things to do this week on Lindenwood’s campus and around St. Charles. 

1. Swing dance on Tuesday night with the Swing Dance Club.
Tuesday, Nov. 14
9-11 p.m.
The J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts, Room 2020

Lindenwood’s Swing Dance Club dances the night away every Tuesday night. Anyone is welcome to join, and no experience or partner is needed.

2. Go hunt for Christmas presents at Treasure Chest’s Holiday Craft and Expo.
Friday, Nov. 17 – Sunday, Nov. 19
Friday, 1 – 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
St. Charles Convention Center
One Convention Center Plaza, St. Charles, MO 63303

Over 200 booths of crafts, gift items, gourmet goodies, holiday and decor items will fill St. Charles Convention Center this weekend. This event is free. For more information, visit the event’s homepage. 

3. Immerse in dance performances at Lindenwood’s Fall Dance Concert.
Thursday, Nov. 16 – Saturday, Nov. 18
7:30 p.m.
The Lindenwood Theater

Lindenwood’s dance students take the stage for their annual Fall Dance Concert. This year’s ten dances explore themes of history, musicality and relationships through tap, swing, ballet and contemporary dance. For ticket information, contact the Box Office at 636-949-4433 for tickets. Students, faculty and staff can get two free tickets with their Lindenwood IDs.

4. Join Campus Activities Board for a casino night on Friday. 
Friday, Nov. 17
6-9 p.m.
Evans Commons Dining Hall

Evans Commons Dining Hall will turn into a casino with CAB on Friday. The CABsino will be open from 6-8 p.m. and magician Josh Weidner will perform a magic show straight after. Appetizers will be provided. 

5.  Cheer for InterVarsity’s Biggest Loser competition winners.
Saturday, Nov. 18
6-7:30 p.m.
Spellmann Center 3015

The winners of InterVarsity’s second annual Biggest Loser Competition will be revealed on Saturday. Competitors have had six weeks to lose weight, starting Oct. 6 and ending Nov. 17. The team and individual who has lost the most weight will be awarded. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
