A Rave Alert has canceled all classes at Lindenwood’s Missouri and Illinois locations due to predicted inclement weather.

According to an advisory from the National Weather Service, wintry precipitation, including freezing rain, sleet and snow is expected for much of the metro area this evening and should continue late into the night for areas south and east of St. Louis.

Meteorologist Jim Kramper with the weather service in Weldon Spring said a strong cold front is coming through later this evening. Temperatures will be in the upper 30s, dropping to 32 degrees Fahrenheit between 4 and 4:30 p.m.

Any precipitation after 4:30 p.m. could be freezing rain.

“We are not expecting a lot, but it does not take a lot to cause problems,” Kramper said.

According to the Lindenwood email, the Missouri Department of Transportation recommends that all drivers stay off the roads after 6 p.m. tonight.
