The St. Louis Renaissance Fair is having its first adult Easter egg hunt event at Rotary Park in Wentzville for everyone 21 and over.

The event will be on April 14 and will start off with a pre-party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the egg hunt will be from 1 to 5 p.m. The Kegs ‘N’ Eggs event is an adult Easter egg hunt with the chance to win prizes, try beer samples and spend time with friends.

During the pre-party, people can purchase drinks, and when the hunt starts, there will be free craft beer samples. These samples will be put into each participant’s souvenir mug that comes with every ticket purchase.

General admission is $25 if ordered ahead of time and $35 at the door. The price includes unlimited craft beer samples, a swag bag and a souvenir mug.

If someone dislikes craft beer but still wants to join in on the fun, there is a designated driver ticket for $15. This includes the swag and unlimited water or soda instead of beer.

Emily Fisher, the director of marketing, has been preparing for this event since March.

“People should come to the event because it will be a fun experience, not only as an event but to experience part of our Renaissance Fair as well,” Fisher said.

The Kansas City Renaissance Fair started doing the Kegs ‘N’ Eggs event four years ago and around 2,000 people attended. Fisher expects approximately 500 to 1,000 people attend the event.

By having this event, she hopes to spread awareness about the St. Louis Renaissance Fair.

There will be two bands from the Renaissance Fair during the pre-party. Drinking games, food trucks, themed competitions and some shops will be open. Then at 1 p.m., the hunt, along with free samples, will begin. Beer craft samples will include Highway 40, Woodchuck, O’Fallon and Friendship. Inside the eggs are tickets for cash, concert tickets and candy. There will be discounted Renaissance Fair tickets for students if they show their student IDs.

Fisher said “rain or shine” the event will go on as planned.
