Kelsey Gross is the executive event coordinator this year for the Campus Activity Board.

Gross is from St. Charles and is an advertising and strategic communications major and marketing minor. Gross said she applies the skills she is learning in her major to her fashion blog, Missouri Prepster. After graduation in May 2020, Gross said she plans to take her blog to the next level.

“Long term, I want to make sure I can make that a career,” she said.

Gross and another cabbie are working to create a commuter club, after becoming a commuter herself this semester. Even though Gross lives off campus now, she remains involved on campus as a member of Lindenwood sorority, Delta Zeta and the advertising club.

Gross said she believes being a part of CAB has helped her transform into the student and young professional she is today.

“I’ve really seen myself grow through this position,” she said. “When I first started at Lindenwood, I was very introverted, kept to myself, liked to stay in my own bubble, but since I’ve started planning events and started meeting new people, I’ve become extremely extroverted.”

Gross said her involvement with CAB greatly strengthened her leadership skills and helped her figure out what she wants to do after Lindenwood.

As a executive event coordinator, Gross said this year Lindenwood will have its first Fall Fest, replacing Winterfest, that has ran in December for the last two years. The change is happening because CAB has inherited the Christmas Walk this year.

“It will hopefully be right before Thanksgiving, and kind of be like all things fall,” she said.

Gross encourages all students to become more involved on campus. She said she believes that anyone can be a part of CAB, even if it means just volunteering.

“Honestly, there’s more than just the social aspect of it,” she said. “Being a part of CAB, you learn leadership skills, you learn organization skills; this is stuff you’ll use in the real world, and throughout your career.”
