LU’s business school to host federal economy discussion

Lindenwood University will serve as the location for an economics discussion that will cover topics affecting the United States.

“A Monetary Policy Throwdown,” presented by LU’s John W. Hammond Institute for Free Enterprise in partnership with the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce, will feature four local economics experts participating in the discussion.

Gaetano Antinolfi, associate professor of economics at Washington University; Max Gillman, econ professor at University of Missouri – St. Louis; and Daniel Thornton, retired vice president and economic advisor of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis are scheduled to appear. David Nicklaus, business reporter, editor and columnist from the St. Louis Post Dispatch, will serve as moderator of the discussion.

Following the conversation of issues facing the country’s current monetary policy will be a Q&A session, plus free refreshments.

The event, subtitled with the question “Is the Fed Misguided?,” will take place on Wednesday, April 13 in the Anheuser-Busch Leadership Room on the top floor of the Spellmann Center at LU’s St. Charles campus. It is scheduled to happen from 4:30-6 p.m. and is free and open to the general public.
