Greek leaders at Lindenwood University will host a basketball tournament at 7 p.m. Wednesday to raise money for the Oasis Food Pantry of St. Charles.
Hoops 4 Hunger is an event lead by Lindenwood event management students as well as many Greek life leaders. Those attending the basketball game will be asked to make a small monetary donation or bring in a canned good. Those who do will be given a chance to participate in several competitions, including a free-throw contest, a three-point contest, a half-court shot and a dribbling speed and skills contest.
Participants with the highest scores at the end of the event will be rewarded with a selection of prizes.
Dallas Zimmerman participated last year.
“We get to help people and have fun; it was great watching students at our school come together for such a great cause,” he said.
Noelle Johnston, a leader of Delta Zeta and Lindenwood event management, said that she hopes to raise $200 or 200 canned foods.
