The Lindy Awards are back and ready to highlight the hard work and creativity of student’s in the School of Arts, Media, and Communications. The 12th annual awards will feature projects from advertising to digital cinema art students.
The ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Lindenwood Theater in the J. Scheidegger Center. This will be the first award ceremony since the School of Communications merged with the School of Fine and Performing Arts last year.
Students submitted their work to be critiqued by outside judges who then select the best entry in each category.
For this year’s competition there will be only 46 categories, which is less than the previous award ceremony. In 2016, 61 categories were available for students to compete in.

Faculty, alumni and high school students outside the university will be able to compete in various categories. Students from St. Charles West, Francis Howell and Francis Howell Central, and Afton High school are among the few who have submitted their work.
The event is free and open to the public. In addition, the ceremony will be broadcast live on LUTV.
