Former Lindenwood football player Pierre Desir has been placed on the injured reserve list by the Indianapolis Colts after suffering a pectoral muscle tear Sunday against Jacksonville.
Desir has started six games for the Colts this year, registering 32 tackles, seven defended passes and his first career NFL interception.

Desir became the first Lindenwood player to be taken in the NFL draft when the Cleveland Browns took him with pick 127 in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Desir appeared to have found a stable home in Indianapolis after being claimed off waivers by the team on Sept. 3, 2017. Previous to the Colts, Desir was briefly a member of both the Seattle Seahawks and the San Diego Chargers.
Desir carved out a stellar career for Lindenwood after transferring from Washburn in 2011, winning the Cliff Harris award for the national small school defensive player of the year in 2013.
The injury is a stroke of bad luck for Desir, as his contract with the Colts runs out at the end of the season. Desir will head into the 2018 off-season as an unrestricted free agent.
