Women in Missouri seeking an abortion will only be able to go to the St. Louis Planned Parenthood clinic after another facility in Columbia could not meet new state requirements.
Under the new state requirements, abortion providers must have admitting privileges at hospitals that are within 15 minutes from the clinics.
Emily Miller, a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood in Great Plains, told National Public Radio that these restrictions make “patients safer if they experience complications from the abortion.”
