Stan Musial Memorial

Saturday around five p.m. the St. Louis Cardinals announced the passing of a Cardinal legend, Stan-The Man-Musial. At Busch Stadium in downtown St. Louis there is a memorial that is growing everyday underneath the Stan Musial statue.

Plenty of Cardinal fans have visited the statue, especially with the Cardinals winter-warm up going on at the nearby Hyatt Hotel.

His lifetime batting average was .331.

He hit 475 home runs during his career.

He played in 12,717 games.

His on-base percentage was 417.

He holds just about every cardinal hitting record.

The Cardinals announced Monday that the public visitation will be Thursday from two-to-eight p-m. a funeral mass will be at 11 a-m Saturday at the cathedral basilica.

Following the mass, the funeral procession will travel to Busch Stadium where the family will lay a wreath at the base of the Musial statue.
