Lindenlink and Legacy placed as finalists for two national Mark of Excellence Awards from the Society of Professional Journalists.

For Online Opinion and Commentary, the Lindenlink Editorial Board was a finalist for editorials about the termination of the Legacy in 2018.  

Design Chief Kat Owens was also a national finalist for Photo Illustration in the Small School Division.  This was for an image that was published in Legacy magazine with a story on trends among Millennials regarding religion.

Owens said the photo illustration took over six hours to create in Photoshop, as well as the time taking photos in the church and selecting the most appropriate one for the project.  

“It was the first time I did such a large undertaking for photo manipulation,” she said.
