Coach Jack Cribbin, entering his 20th season at the helm, welcomes 18 newcomers to a team that will look to build on a 13-5, 3-3 Atlantic Sun (ASUN) season that saw the Lions advance to the ASUN tournament semifinals.
Alissa DiGiacinto returns as the Lions’ top goal scorer from a year ago. She finished her freshman campaign with 43 goals and eight assists, and a spot on the ASUN All-Freshman team.
Isabella Rulapaugh also returns for Lindenwood coming off a junior season that saw her have 25 goals and 15 assists in 18 games played.
Reese Kreiger also returns for Lindenwood after an ASUN All-Freshman selection a year ago. Kreiger tallied 23 goals and four assists during her freshman campaign and will look to continue to build on her success by anchoring the Lions midfield this season.
Emily Mowbray, a senior midfielder also returns coming off an 11-goal and 10 assist season and will be a veteran presence on a team filled with a plethora of talented freshmen.
Elizabeth Goth returns in goal for the Lions after appearing in 12 games a season ago and starting six of them. She tallied 63 saves, a .438 save percentage, and a record of 5-3 last season.
The Lions welcome two very talented transfer portal acquisitions, Luci Selander and Aislinn Sweeney. Selander comes from Butler University and was an All-Big East second-team selection last season after recording 57 points and 38 goals. Sweeney, a goalkeeper from Albany, was a preseason Defensive Player of the Year nominee. She was a second-team all-conference selection with the Great Danes and made 11 starts last season.
16 freshmen fill out the rest of the roster for the Lions spanning from coast to coast across the United States. Of the 16, the Lions welcome seven midfielders Anna Bea Jacobs, Claire Blue, Annie Wille, Sarah Chodosh, Carly Thiel, Mia Proctor, and Hailey Voss. Five defenders: Campbell Slankford, Julia Bella, Olivia Godbout, Payton Davis, and Maggie Sneider. And three attackers: Tatum Bryant, Emma Walsh, and Hannah Coleman.
The Lions were picked to finish fourth in the ASUN preseason coaches poll with no players selected for the preseason All-ASUN team.
Lindenwood opens up its season on Friday, Feb. 7 against Youngstown State University with their home opener coming on Sunday, Feb. 16 against Central Michigan University. The Lions have 16 games scheduled for the regular season, including seven home games at Hunter Stadium.
