St. Charles will see a mixture of heat and possible thunderstorms in the middle of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Any neighbors or family members who are elderly and particularly vulnerable to heat events should be checked on, said Wes Browning, a meteorologist with the weather service in Weldon Spring. Anyone working outside for long periods of time in the sun should take frequent breaks and also drink a lot of water, he said.

Monday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the mid-80s and a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with south winds blowing at 6 miles per hour. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 70s and a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Southeast winds will blow 3 to 6 miles per hour.

Tuesday be will be partly sunny with highs in the lower 90s and a heat index of approximately 103. South winds will blow 5 to 8 miles per hour with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the mid 70s and south winds blowing at 3 to 6 miles per hour.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a highs in the mid 90s and a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. South winds will blow at 3 to 7 miles per hour. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the mid-70s.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-90s. Thursday night will be mostly clear with lows around the mid-70s.

Friday will be mostly sunny with highs in the lower 90s and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Friday night will be mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 70s and a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Saturday will be partly sunny with highs near the upper 80s and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Saturday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 70 degrees.

Sunday will be partly sunny with highs near the mid-80s and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
