Family day returns for the fourth year in a row

On Saturday, Sept. 24, Lindenwood will be hosting their fourth annual Family Day. This event is to give students an opportunity to spend time with their family on campus while enjoying a plethora of activities. Everything from sports to fines arts is planned for the day, and in order to provide the best experience, we have listed the schedule of events and activities.

10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Honors Reception – Lindenwood House
President Michael Shonrock and faculty from the honors college invite honors students and their families to learn more about the program with provided refreshments.

11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Expo 2016 – Spellmann Atrium
Check-In starts here, where students and their families can learn more about some of the local businesses in an effort to further connect Lindenwood to the surrounding community.

Field Hockey – Hunter Stadium
Come cheer on your fellow Lions as the Field Hockey team takes on the Newberry Wolves at Hunter Stadium.

2 – 5 p.m.
Kids’ Corner – Evans Commons Lawn
Bring the little Lions to enjoy inflatables, face painting and carnival games for all ages on the Evans Commons Lawn. There will even be a chance to win some amazing prizes.

2 p.m.
Women’s Volleyball – Hyland Arena
Head over to the Hyland Arena to see the lady Lions go up against the Central Oklahoma Bronchos in a volleyball match starting at 2 p.m..

3 – 5 p.m.
International Festival – Evans Commons Lawn
Experience the world in our own backyard with the international festival. Taste foods from, see performances from and learn about a vast selection of countries.

5 – 6 p.m.
Ice Cream Social – Spellmann Center Patio
President Shonrock warmly invites students and their families to meet him for ice cream on the Spellmann Patio.

6 p.m.
Football – Hunter Stadium
The Lions are facing the Pittsburg State Gorillas on the Lions’ home turf. Head over to Hunter Stadium to cheer them on as they face the Gorillas.

7 p.m.
Jungle Book (2016) – Young Auditorium
Wind the day down with a viewing of the live action Jungle Book adaptation in the auditorium inside of Young Hall on the Heritage side of campus.

9 – 11 p.m.
CSU’s S’More Post Game Celebration – Newman Center
If you’re not quite ready for the day to end, head over to the Catholic Student Union (Now located at 304 Kingshighway) to hang out, warm up and make S’Mores.
