Phone stolen in robbery recovered from Wal-Mart

Director of Safety and Security John Bowman said the phone that was stolen in the strong-arm robbery incident on Sunday has been found.

St. Charles Police tracked down the phone and recovered it from local Wal-Mart.

Bowman said he believes the victim is a Lindenwood student.  

The perpetrator approached the victim from behind, took her phone and tried to grab her book bag. The perpetrator failed at this attempt and left the scene just taking the phone. 

Bowman said no reports were made of the perpetrator carrying any weapons.

Sept. 24

Campus security and St. Charles police are investigating a strong-arm robbery that happened Sunday afternoon on Anneric Street in Lindenwood’s women’s housing. 

According to an email that was sent to students at 6:03 p.m., Public Safety & Security was notified of the crime at 4:37 p.m.

The victim was walking on Anneric Street near Charbo Street when a black male approached her from behind and took her cellphone. He then got into the passenger side of a white older model four-door vehicle that fled the scene.

The suspect was described as 19-25 years old and 5 feet, 7 inches tall. The driver of the car was described as a black female, 18-25 years old.

No other information about the incident was released. Authorities were not immediately available for comment.
