Five reasons to leave your dorm this week

If you’re looking for something to do this week outside of class, here are five ideas for things to do on campus or in the St. Charles area.

1. Head to a Cardinals game.

7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26

Busch Stadium, 700 Clark Ave., St. Louis, Missouri

The Greek community is selling tickets to Tuesday’s Cardinals vs. Cubs game for $25. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital. Tickets can be purchased at the Student Involvement office.

2. Have lunch with the French Club.

1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29

Evans Commons Dining Hall

Can you say “bon appétit”? Join the French club for lunch and French language practice. All levels of expertise are welcome to join.

3. Check out the New Town BBQ and Blues Festival.

Noon to 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30 

New Town Amphitheater, 3333 Rue Royale, St. Charles, Missouri

Head out to New Town for a free concert featuring The Soulard Blues Band, KD Allen and the Sliders, The Boulevard Blues Band and Delta Sol Revival. Take a few dollars with you for barbecue. If you’re feeling generous, bring a toy for a Toys for Tots donation.

4. Celebrate the history of everything with Matchbox Twenty.

6:45 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26

Hollywood Casino Amphitheater, 14141 Riverport Dr, Maryland Heights, Missouri

Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows are bringing the “A Brief History of Everything” tour to St. Louis right around the corner from campus. Ticket prices range $30-$100.

5.Test your knowledge at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop trivia night.

8:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28.

2412 W Clay St, St Charles, Missouri

Grab a taco, a margarita and a pencil at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. Every Thursday the restaurant hosts a trivia night free of charge. Grab your smartest friends and make your way over.
