During his first semester at Lindenwood, Serbian-born tennis player Filip Cukovic had an encounter with wrestler Michael Johnson, who later was sentenced to ten years for exposing partners to HIV. Though Cukovic avoided the disease, the event changed his life and he later testified against Johnson during his 2015 trial. Before the September 2017 hearing at which Johnson plead down to a sentence of 10 years, reporter Matt Hampton interviewed Cukovic over the phone about his story.
