The Lindenwood men’s golf team will be playing its fourth tournament, the Midwest Regional, at The University of Missouri-St. Louis Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri, on Oct. 9 and 10.

There are a total of 16 teams competing in this tournament. Out of the 16 teams, some Missouri rivals include the UMSL A and B teams, Maryville University and Rockhurst University. All other teams are from out of state.  These teams include McKendree, Southern Indiana, Northwood, Cedarville, Lewis, Kentucky Wesleyan, Hillsdale, Illinois-Springfield, Wisconsin-Parkside, Findlay, Trevecca Nazarene and Tiffin University.

This is the second tournament Lindenwood will play at the Fox Run Golf Club. The first time Lindenwood played at Fox Run in the Arch Cup, the team finished in first place, as well as winning first in the team category. The top two players for the tournament were from Lindenwood. Markus Lindgren finished in first place, while Yente Van Doren finished in second.

“Hopefully we can win big at this tournament, because the first time we played here we finished in first. I would like to see that happen again,” coach Derek Schaub said.

Many of the teams in this tournament also played in the Arch Cup. UMSL, Maryville, McKendree and Rockhurst University all played in the Arch Cup. UMSL placed second while McKendree placed third and Rockhurst was sixth.

This tournament is the second to last tournament of the season. The last tournament will be Oct. 16 and 17 at the Ichabod Invitational in Topeka, Kansas. The last tournament of the season will also be a MIAA tournament, so it will be a very important end to the season.
