Q: How long have you been playing sports competitively?

A: “I’ve been playing sports competitively since I was 3 years old. But my main sport, shotgun sports, for about eight years.”

Q: What was your greatest moment in your sports career so far?

A: “Through all the awards I’ve won over the years including state and national titles, my greatest moment in my career so far is easily seeing the kid I taught and mentored help lead his squad to a national title last year.”

Q: What are your game-day routines/superstitions?

A: “First of all before a big competition, I always eat a good breakfast. I don’t really have a routine, but I always try and get to where I’m shooting a couple rounds early to watch the targets and see how they’re flying and give me a little time to relax and slow my mind and body down.”

Q: What is your sports fantasy?

A: “My dream one day is to win the HOA title at the Grand. I also want to podium for all three of the main disciplines I compete in at the national level. And of course, every shooter’s dream is to compete at the Olympics, but we’ll see how that goes.”

Q: Who is your favorite athlete?

A: “My favorite athlete in shotgun sports isn’t super well known and famous. His name is Ron Meinzer. Ron wasn’t the best there was at any one discipline, but he was really good at all three. What makes him special is that he was an even better person than shooter. He cared more about the people he was helping then his own scores. Ron was also one of my first coaches and mentor.”
