The Lindenwood women’s basketball team extended its unbeaten streak to five as it cruised past Saint Louis College of Pharmacy 82-41 Monday night.

With this win, Lindenwood is 5-0 to begin the 2017 season.

The Lions took a 34-23 lead into halftime but shot just 37.8 percent from the field. However, it was a different story in the second half as the Lions outscored the Eutectics 48 to 18 and shot an improved 45 percent from the field.

After making only two of her first seven shots and recording six points in the first half, sophomore Kallie Bildner got going in the second half. She shot 7-9 from the field and registered 16 points. Bildner finished the game with 22 points and 13 rebounds for her fifth straight double-double to begin the season.

Gabby Walker continued to score as she notched 15 points and shot 4-8 from the field. It was Walker’s third straight game with double-digit points.

Lindenwood controlled the glass as they out-rebounded the Eutectics 61-34. The Lions have yet to be out-rebounded this season. Lindenwood’s dominance on the glass is a nod to the play of front court duo, Bildner and Walker, who have averaged a combined 22.2 rebounds per game this season.

The Lion’s defense overwhelmed the Eutectics as it shot 27.4 percent from the field and had 19 steals during the game.

The Lion’s next game will be against 1-2 McKendree University Tuesday afternoon at 5 p.m. in Hyland Arena.
