The Lions host Central Oklahoma to conclude Family Day festivities on Sept. 15.

Lindenwood is fresh off of a 51-13 blowout win against Missouri Southern State last Saturday that consisted of big stat lines from both sides of the ball. The offense accounted for 488 yards of total offense, 29 first downs and four passing touchdowns. While defensively, the Lions allowed only 33 passing yards and came up with three turnovers, one of which was returned for a touchdown.

Tight end Erik Henneman showed up huge for the Lions as the recipient of all four of those passing touchdowns; his four touchdowns broke a school-record that has been held for 24 years. Currently, Henneman’s five total receiving touchdowns place him second in the nation.

UCO comes into this week with a record of 0-2, losing to #23 Pittsburg State 21-7 in week one, and to Nebraska-Kearney 31-27 in week two.

The Bronchos rely heavily on quarterback play. Starting sophomore quarterback Keats Calhoon leads the team in not only passing yards with 359, but rushing yards with 94. Backup quarterback Chandler Garrett also makes frequent appearances, leading the Broncho squad in rushing touchdowns with two.

Defensively, the Bronchos’ pass-coverage stands out especially. After allowing only 107 passing yards to Pittsburg State, the defense responded with another sub-200-yard performance against Nebraska-Kearney. In addition, UCO has only allowed two passing touchdowns and 16 total completions on the year.

UCO’s record could be deceiving to many, but since 2014, Lindenwood is 1-3 against the Bronchos, with average losses coming by a 23-point losing margin.
