Lindenwood suffered a 7-0 loss to the No. 16 University of Central Oklahoma on Friday.

The Lions did not have their best day when they ran up against the undefeated Bronchos. They were outshot 22-1 in the contest and 12-1 in shots on goal.

The Bronchos were able to score four first half goals.  They got to work early when senior Katie Killion notched the team’s first goal in the fifth minute. This was the first of her three goals. Junior Asha Halie assisted Killion on the first goal, then scored two goals of her own. The last goal of the half was scored by senior Piper Cannon to give the Bronchos the 4-0 lead.

The Broncho attack kept it going in the second half, scoring three more unanswered goals. Killion scored her second goal in the 50th minute and her third goal in the 66th to complete her third hat trick of the season. The final goal of the game was scored by senior Madison Motil in the 73rd minute.

Sophomore Megan Swanson started in net for the Lions and made five saves. Brochos goalkeepers freshman Kelsi Gibson and sophomore Kaitlyn Asher split time in net and each played a half. Asher made one save.

The loss for the Lions brings their record to 5-5-1, and 2-2-0 in MIAA conference play. The win for the Bronchos keeps them undefeated at 11-0-0, and 4-0-0 in MIAA.

Next for the Lions, Sunday Oct. 7 they travel to Northeastern State University to take on the RiverHawks at 1 p.m.
