Another round of snow with significant accumulation possible, is forecast for the St. Louis area.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening until 6 p.m. Thursday evening. The chance of snow is 90 percent with accumulation of one to three inches, beginning just after midnight Thursday morning, according to The Weather Channel.

The early morning snow will pave a path for more snow showers in the afternoon, adding an additional one to three inches of snow.

“It’s a winter storm bringing anywhere from three to six inches of snow around midnight into the morning on Thursday,” said Jim Sieveking, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Thursday’s high will be 34 degrees with a low of 26, and by evening, it will no longer be snowing.

Sieveking said because of the snow accumulation, if anyone has to travel for school or work, he recommends leaving early and allowing extra travel time because of road conditions and traffic.

Insurance company AAA recommends making sure tires are properly inflated, keeping the gas tank at least half full to avoid a gas-line freeze-up, not using cruise control when driving on a slippery surface and driving slowly.
