The Lindenwood athletics website announced Tuesday that Lance Randall, the men’s basketball head coach, had resigned.

“I would like to thank Lance Randall for his service to Lindenwood University and the athletics department for the last four years,” Vice President of Athletics Brad Wachler said in the announcement. “We feel that program is in a great position and is fully ready to head into the GLVC. We are excited to see the caliber of candidates we will get as we kick off a national search. “

Although the announcement did not disclose any information as to why Randall resigned, Saint Leo University Athletics released an announcement on Monday that stated he was re-hired as their men’s basketball head coach.

Randall coached at Saint Leo, a university in Florida, from 2011 to 2015.

This coming season, the men’s basketball team will transition from the MIAA conference to the Great Lakes Valley Conference, which is affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division II.

According to the announcement, Randall helped the Lions advance to their first MIAA quarterfinals in the program history, including 21 victories in the 2016-2017 season, the second season for Randall. The Lions hadn’t won 20 victories since the 2011-2012 season.

For the 2018 and 2019 seasons, the Lions posted back-to-back 16 win records and advanced to post season play. Randall also coached 26 student-athletes that were named MIAA Honor Roll and 11 all-MIAA.
