Lindenwood will welcome members of the business community to speak at this year’s Spring commencement. Lindenwood University will host its spring commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday May 16 and 17.
Friday’s speaker, Kathy Osborn is the Executive Director of the Regional Business Council. Saturday’s speaker is Joe Reagan, President and CEO of the St. Louis Regional Chamber.
Graduate commencement will take place Friday at 7 p.m. and Undergraduate commencement will follow the next morning at 10 a.m. Both ceremonies will take place at the St. Charles Family Arena. Guest will not need tickets and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates for each ceremony will open an hour and a half before the scheduled start time.
Lindenwood University Provost Jann Weitzel said the total number of graduates expected is around 1350 600 Friday evening and 750 for Saturday.
Weitzel also said six faculty members will be named faculty emeriti.
“Faculty Emeriti is the highest recognition a faculty member can receive and is based on exemplary service of at least 20 years,” Weitzel said. “Each of these people is retiring this year.”
Friday evening’s honoree is the Dean of the Lindenwood College for Individualized Education, Daniel Kemper. Saturday’s honorees are George Hickenlooper, English; Ann Canale, English; Peter Griffin, History; Curtis Billhymer, Communication; and Edward Perantoni, Education.
