The All-Style Dance Club successfully hosted its first Sibley Day event as they attempted to get the students of Lindenwood on their feet. Students of all shapes, sizes and majors attended the event. Raylon Bivins stated that “everyone is invited” to join the All-Style Dance Club, “no matter what their experience.” Over 30 students shook the second floor of J Schidegger Center for the Arts with fresh moves and hip hop music at the ASDC Hear Us Roar: Hip Hop Workshop at 1 p.m.
Bivins plans to expand the club further than their 15 members after today’s event stating, “[The event] was to promote the club and also represent the dance department. We have a thriving dance department here at Lindenwood, so, we try to get people to come see what different dances we’re doing.”
Rodolfo Madriz came to the workshop for a class project and received more than expected.
“Now, I’m actually considering coming to the dance classes that I think they offer on specific Wednesdays at 6pm,” Madriz said.
Bivins was prepared for students like Madriz who may have wished to know more about the club after the exciting first experience and provided flyers at the end of class with Bivins’ email and the date and time for future classes.
