The Department of Anthropology and Sociology hosted its Lindenwood Through the Decades Interview Station in Spellmann 4185 today from 2-3 p.m.

“The idea behind the project is to understand if there is a common culture here at Lindenwood,” said the primary investigator of the project, Assistant Professor Christina Dames.

According to Dames, the project started its accumulation of interviews with alumni during homecoming. The project is now focusing on current students, faculty and staff.

Interviewees are asked to explain two things:
1. What words would you use to describe LU?
2. Please tell me about your favorite memory.

What follows, according to Dames, is an analysis that will pinpoint the similarities in the way people think about Lindenwood to see if there’s a common thread.

Senior Courtney Cox and junior Emma Madden helped to gather interviews.

“[Interviewing students] is a little different,” said Cox. “A lot of students don’t really seem to want to talk and don’t seem to have many positive sentiments about LU in general. It’s fun, though. I like that we get to talk to different people.”

Madden concurred but also added that “It’s refreshing to get to hear other people’s experiences.”
