Lindenwood University’s mascot Leo the Lion won a mascot competition at Mid Rivers Mall on Oct. 29.
The Mascot Dance-Off contest featured a competitive field of local mascots.
“The Mascot Dance-Off is a great event that allows local schools and businesses to connect with the community they serve in a fun atmosphere,” said Amber Westerson, Marketing Director for Mid Rivers Mall, in a press release on the university’s website. “It’s definitely an entertaining event and fun for the entire family.”
Leo made the crowd cheer with his acrobatic dance moves, connecting with a flip and the splits. Leo’s agility helped him to bring home the disco ball trophy of the competition.
One of the mascots beaten by Leo was the St. Louis Cardinals mascot, Fredbird. The other mascot competitors included Bushwacker of the St. Louis Ambush, Spartacus from Missouri Baptist University, Webkins Kooky Cookie and Apple Blossom and Merle from Martian Car Wash.
This is the second time Leo won the Mascot Dance-Off.
