The Lindenwood men’s soccer team will travel to Hays, Kansas, to face MIAA conference opponent Fort Hays State on Sunday at 1 p.m. These teams met back on Oct. 8 when the Lions lost 2-1 at home.
The Lions are coming off a tough defeat at Harding University losing 4-2 on Oct. 20. Lindenwood is currently 8-6 on the season and sits third in the MIAA conference with a record of 3-2.
Lindenwood will be without sophomore goalkeeper Tim Licht, who was issued a red card in the loss against Harding University. Licht has a record of 7-3 when he is in goal and has three shutouts on the season for the Lions, according to Lindenwood Athletics.
Freshman Michele Ganz’s six-game goal streak came to an end in the loss to Harding University. Ganz has 11 goals and three assists on the year and leads the team in points with 25, according to Lindenwood Athletics.
The Lions have three games remaining on their schedule, all against conference opponents, but first need to take care of business against Fort Hays State, who currently sits atop of the table in the MIAA Conference with a record of 6-1.
“It is important to play our next game and win,” coach Carl Hutter said. “Whether it is Fort Hays or against an elementary school.”
