Lindenwood University men’s ice hockey will have its fourth of five weekends at home this coming weekend at the Wentzville Ice Arena against Robert Morris University. This is the first of two series between Robert Morris and Lindenwood, and the second series will be played Jan. 11 and 12 at the Edge Ice Arena in Chicago.
During the 2016-2017 season, Lindenwood was scheduled to meet Robert Morris for the first time in January, but the series was canceled because of weather conditions. The two teams eventually met in February with Lindenwood winning both games with a combined seven goals in the two games.
After Lindenwood’s shootout win and regulation loss to the University of Illinois last weekend, according to the ACHA rankings as of Nov. 1, the University of Illinois jumped up three spots to overtake Lindenwood as number three in the division. Lindenwood fell three spots and now ranks sixth, just one spot ahead of Robert Morris University.
The Robert Morris Eagles are coming into this weekend with a 7-3-0 record. Their last match against Rochester College at home on Oct. 20 and 21 saw a high-scoring games, with the first night the Eagles winning 8-3, and the second night 9-1.
Lindenwood currently has a 10-1-2 record, with six of their 10 wins coming from home games.
The Lions will play the Eagles this Saturday at 7 p.m. and this Sunday at 2 p.m. Both games are at the Wentzville Ice Arena and available to be streamed on YouTube.
Lindenwood will finish its home game stand next weekend on Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11 against the Missouri State Bears.
