The season so far
Six competitors for Lindenwood’s track and field team finished in the top five in their respective categories at the Titans First Chance meet.
The indoor meet was on Dec. 2 in Bloomington, Illinois, and was the Lions’ first competition for the season.
For the men’s team, Samuel Yaro came in first for the 600 meter race. Michael Mlambo came second in the 200 meter and fourth in the 60 meter. Bumnene Nicanor Ndebele received second in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump.
On the women’s team, Mya Davis came in first for the 300 meter and 60 meter hurdles events. Anna Tyan finished second in the high jump. Tess Augustyn placed third in the weight throw.
This was the first competition at Lindenwood for Yaro and Davis.
The team will compete on Jan. 13 in the Gene Edmonds Open competition.
