Siblings Day will come to Lindenwood for the first time this Saturday, offering a new experience for both students and their siblings alike.
The Student Life and Diversity office collaborated with the Campus Activities Board to put on Siblings Day as a part of Spring Fling Week, taking place during Adventure Day on Saturday.
Taylor Schwede, an administrative assistant in the Student Life and Diversity office, said this day is branched off of Family Day, which has always been successful.
Schwede said they have been planning this day since November, and hopes students and their siblings enjoy.
“We really wanted to implement something that brought in the younger generation,” Schwede said.
The day will start out with Adventure Day from noon to 3 p.m. Schwede said this will include carnival games, a zip line and a lot of food.
After Adventure Day, they will have an arts and crafts hour from 3 to 4 p.m. During this hour, root beer floats will also be served.
“It’s a good way to have some good bonding time,” Schwede said. “I mean, who doesn’t love root beer floats?”
Schwede said after the crafting hour, they will show “Up” in the Library and Academic Resources Center theater from 4 to 6 p.m.
The day will end at 9 p.m giving students and their siblings time to tour the campus. Schwede said all the residence halls will be open.
“That’ll be a great way to have any younger siblings actually go visit their Lindenwood student and see what dorm life is like,” Schwede said.
Schwede said she hopes the day will show off Lindenwood’s beautiful campus and the sense of community. She said she hopes the siblings might like it enough to come here for school.
“It’s a good opportunity for everybody to come and just enjoy the day,” Schwede said.
