Looking for something to do after the first week of classes? How about a concert?
This week, acts such as Buckcherry, Gym Class Heroes, Ed Sheeran and Kid Rock will be rolling through St. Louis. This weekend, down in Forest Park, join artists like T-Pain, Misterwives, Brothers Osborne and more at Lou Fest.
1. 105.7 The Point presents: WayBack Pointfest
Monday, Sept. 3

The full line up for this year’s WayBack Pointfest is 311, The Offspring, Toadies, Gym Class Heroes, P.O.D, Lit, Alien Ant Farm, Sponge and Modern Day Zero. More information about the festival and the bands playing can be found on 105.7 The Point’s website.

2. Parkway Drive – REVERENCE North American Tour 2018

Going on tour to support its new album “Reverence,” which launched on Epitaph Records earlier this year, Parkway Drive is a metalcore band hailing all the way from Byron Bay, Australia. Some of the band’s most popular songs include “Vice Grip,” which has over 24 million streams on Spotify and “Wild Eyes,” which has over 19 million streams.

3. Dumpstaphunk

Forming in New Orleans, Louisiana and releasing its debut album as a collection of live songs performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Dumpstaphunk is a band that classifies itself as a “funk and jam” band. Some of the band’s most popular songs include “Water,” which has over 2 million streams on Spotify and “Sheez Music,” which has over 1 million streams.

4. Ed Sheeran: 2018 North American Stadium Tour

Known for writing love ballads that have been on the radio since his debut, Ed Sheeran is bringing his 2018 tour to St. Louis. Sheeran’s 2014 album, “X,” debuted at number one on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Hits off of the album “Thinking Out Loud” and “Sing,” helped him score the win for Artist of the Year in the 2015 Brit Awards. More recently in 2017, “Shape of You,” made its way to number one on charts throughout the world.

5. NPR’s Ask Me Another

National Public Radio will be doing a live taping of its show “Ask Me Another,” which features puzzles, word games and trivia questions. Musicians Matt and Kim will also be in attendance to participate in the show.
Tickets for this event are sold out on Ticketmaster, but resale tickets are available for purchase on StubHub. Tickets purchased through StubHub may be priced higher than the face value of the original tickets.
6. Kid Rock and Brantley Gilbert: Red Blooded RocknRoll Redneck Extravaganza

Kid Rock, who has made a name for himself since being kicked off of his first label, Jive Records, in the late ’80s, still has over 2 million listeners on Spotify. His 2012 album, “Rebel Soul,” entered the Billboard charts at number five and eventually went gold. His most popular song is “All Summer Long,” which has generated over 100 million streams of Spotify.
Even though he is a country artist, Brantley Gilbert‘s style is similar to that of Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp and Steve Earle. To date, Gilbert’s most popular hit is his 2014 song, “Bottoms Up,” which has over 100 million streams on Spotify. In 2017, his newest single “The Weekend,” coming off of his third album “The Devil Don’t Sleep,” made it to the Billboard country Top 20.

Counting Crows became an “overnight” sensation when the band formed in 1994. Since then, the band has produced records and has even had a single on the Top 40 charts for Modern Rock and Adult Top 40, which was “A Long December” from the 1996 album “Recovering the Satellites.”
