Former Lindenwood student-athlete Xavier Boland of Jamaica, who already is facing four sex-related felonies, was charged Tuesday with rape in a separate case, according to court documents.
Police said the new incident happened on Sunday, Oct. 29, at Boland’s apartment in the 900 block of Circle Drive, a few blocks from campus, on Sunday. The alleged victim told police she met Boland and his girlfriend there that night and had two alcoholic drinks before the trio went to a bar on Main Street.
The woman said she did not consume any more alcohol at the bar, but after they left in Boland’s vehicle, she said she became nauseous and began vomiting.
Boland, 24, drove them back to his apartment, where the woman said she went to the bathroom and continued to get sick. She said Boland was holding her hair out of the way while she vomited.
Then Boland began to caress her and fondle her breasts, according to court documents. She told Boland to stop, but he continued. She allegedly pushed him away and told him to get off her.
Police said Boland was able to remove her clothing, and she did not have the strength to stop him from assaulting her. She said that they had intercourse even though she was resisting.
According to court documents, Boland sent her a message the next day saying he could not remember everything that happened the night before, but he was really sorry.
The woman then contacted police. It is unclear whether she is a Lindenwood student.
In February, Boland was charged with three counts of felony invasion of privacy and one count sexual abuse for an incident in campus housing on Droste Road. He allegedly videotaped his roommate having sex with two women on separate occasions. He also allegedly sexually assaulted one of the women he recorded having sex.
At the time, Boland was a biochemistry and international business major, according to his Instagram bio. He also was a member of both track and field and pole vaulting teams, according to Lindenwood’s athletics page.
Boland recently attempted to raise $30,000 for legal defense on GoFundMe, but the site was shut down because GoFundMe does not allow fundraising for anyone accused of sex-related crimes.
Boland is currently incarcerated in the St. Charles County Jail; his bail is set at $10,000, cash only.
