Lindenwood softball dropped both games of a doubleheader against Washburn University in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Lions fell in game one 7-5 and 7-2 in game two. The defeats drop Lindenwood to 8-4 overall this season and 2-2 in conference games.
The Lions led for most of the game, but a five-run sixth by the Ichabods spelled defeat for Lindenwood.
Courtney Klosnowski was 2-2 with two runs scored and a double. She also had a steal in the game. Hanna Porter was 1-4 with a team-leading two RBIs. Stormee Galka was 1-4 with a pair of runs scored. Ceairra Perez was 1-3 in the contest with a steal, a run and a RBI.
The Lions opened the scoring in game 2 in the first inning on an RBI single by Porter. They tacked on another run in the third on an RBI single from Sam Dean.
The Ichabods scored seven in the third to defeat Lindenwood. Galka was 1-3 with a run scored. Porter also went 1-3 while adding a run and an RBI. Dean went 1-3 with an RBI.
Lindenwood looks to bounce back from its back-to-back losses this week when the Lions face Ava Maria University and Lynn University.
The Lions head to Florida for Spring Break. Lindenwood plays Ave Maria in a doubleheader on Monday and Lynn in a doubleheader on Tuesday.
