Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Karen Street and Anneric Street on the west side of campus on Tuesday.
According to witnesses, an older make blue GMC Sonoma struck a silver sedan around 1:50 p.m. The driver of the truck drove over a stop sign on Anneric Street, and into the lawn of a campus residence. Witnesses said that the driver of the sedan cooperated with police before leaving the scene.
The truck drove up onto an embankment in front of the house, then skidded onto the driveway. According to Bailey Adelmann, a friend of the resident’s, the occupants of the truck did not appear to be students, but the driver of the silver sedan did.
Adelmann said that the passenger of the blue truck ran off after the accident occurred and that the driver asked them not to call police. Another witness, Emily Mae Johnson, said that when police arrived, they arrested him for a warrant.
Lt. Tom Wilkison, public information officer for the city of St. Charles, did confirm that an arrest was made, but no other information is available at the time.
