Lindenwood’s women’s lacrosse team recently hosted Kent State University, defeating the team 18-11.
The win moves the Lions to a 5-1 record to start their season, with a perfect 3-0 record at home.
Graduate student Logann Eldredge led the scoring for the Lions, putting up seven individual points. The rest of the Lindenwood scoring saw Alissa Digiacinto, Isabella Rulapaugh, and Reese Krieger each score two points. Also scoring a point in the match included Sara Grieco, Emily Mowbray, Breylin Bright, Natalie Gane, and Isabella Jahkhah each scored one.
Lindenwood led Kent State in shots, 42 to 29, and shots on goal, with 32 to Kent State’s 18. Also of note in the game, Lindenwood had two different instances in which the team scored four consecutive times. The second instance occurred in the first and second periods, with Eldredge and Krieger each scoring in the winding minutes of the first period, and Digiacinto and Eldredge opening up the second period with two more Lindenwood goals.
The second of which saw the Lions score four times within seven minutes in the third period. Three of those scores were made by Eldredge, with the fourth of which being scored by Rulapaugh.
The Lions now head out on the road to play the University of Akron on March 6, and return home on March 10 to play Detroit Mercy.
