Lindenwood’s men’s volleyball team recently defeated Quincy University by a score of 3-0.
The win moved the team to a season-long record of 7-9, and the team has since won against Erskine College to move to an 8-9 record.
The Lions had a clean sweep of Quincy, scoring 25 points in all three matches en route to victory. In the first game, Lindenwood held Quincy to just 15 points and 22 points in the second game. In the third match, Lindenwood allowed 19 points.
Clay Wieter led the Lions with 10 kills, with AJ Lewis and Owen Walsh coming in behind him with eight and seven respectively. Lewis led the team in aces with three, with Walsh and Ian Schuller scoring two apiece.
In terms of blocks, RaShawn Bonner led the Lions with five, with Walsh and Connor Sheehan coming slowly behind with three each. Sheehan led the team with 30 assists, which was 29 more than second-place Bonner, who registered one in the match. Lastly, Noah Vargg scored nine digs, with Schuller and Sheehan scoring four and three digs respectively.
The next time the Lions will return to the Hyland Arena, it’ll be Wednesday, March 20 against McKendree University, with the game set to begin at 7 p.m.
