Lion’s Choice has been a St. Louis staple since 1967 when Merv Gibbs and Arthur Morey opened the Ballwin, Mo. location.
Since opening its doors, Lion’s Choice has hired thousands of employees. O’Fallon, Mo. Highway K general manager, Rian Bequette is one of the hired by the company.
“Everybody is really friendly here,” Bequette said. “So, no matter who you are, where you come from, they greet you with open arms. So, it’s not your little fast-food restaurant.”
Although Lion’s Choice is known for its famous roast beef, they do offer a variety. The restaurant offers a French dip sandwich, an Italian beef sandwich with your choice of mild or spicy peppers, a turkey sandwich, a ham sandwich, and more. I reached out to Lion’s Choice customers, but I got no answer. Starting on April 9, Lion’s Choice is releasing a new sandwich.
“It will be a great sandwich,” Bequette said. “All of our crew have tried it, and we’re all really excited to start it. It’s definitely a good twist on our original roast beef for long-time customers and for new upcoming customers.”
Bequette has been working for Lion’s Choice for three years, he recalls some of his favorite memories working for the company.
“There’s too many to count really,” Bequette said. “We have a lot of fun so joking around with the crew and just getting to know everybody.”
Bequette stated that his favorite memory is when he got promoted from assistant manager to general manager.
