Summertime is just around the corner, and for those who can’t travel this summer, or are looking for things to do in the St. Louis area, there are plenty of diverse and fun options to keep you busy.
Over the next four months, there is no shortage of concerts, sporting events, festivals, and other things to do in and around St. Louis this summer.
May:
- Laumeier Annual Art Fair: Laumeier Sculpture Park May 10-12
Held each year, the Laumeier Art Fair gives local artists the chance to display and sell some of their work. The three-day festival will also be coupled with live music, and food offerings for those attending.
- Zach Bryan: Enterprise Center May 2
Popular country music artist Zach Bryan kicks off the summer concert series in St. Louis, as he will perform at the Enterprise Center on May 2. He’ll have special guests Levi Turner and The Middle East performing alongside him.
- 21 Savage: Hollywood Casino Amphitheater May 19
21 Savage will headline a group of rap artists coming to the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater on May 19. He’ll be touring as a part of his recent album release, American Dream, and will perform with JID, Nardo Wick, and 21 Lil Harold.
- Cardinals Games: All Month at Busch Stadium
The Cardinals welcome the Chicago White Sox, the New York Mets, the Boston Red Sox, the Baltimore Orioles, and NL Central Rival Chicago Cubs to Busch Stadium in May. Throughout the month, the team will be giving away many different promotional items at the gate, including a Cardinals soccer jersey, an Adam Wainwright bobblehead, a Cardinals purse, an Adam Wainwright puzzle, a Cardinals rope hat, and a mystery Cardinals nickname jersey.
- Battlehawks Games All Month at The Dome at the America Center
The newly minted and very popular St. Louis Battlehawks will welcome two different UFL teams into the Dome in May. On May 4, the Houston Roughnecks come to play at 2 pm, and on May 19, the DC Defenders come to the Dome to face the Battlehawks, with kickoff coming at 11 am.
- City FC Games All Month at CITYPARK.
City FC has three home games scheduled in May, as they will welcome Chicago Fire FC, LAFC, and the Seattle Sounders FC to CITYPARK.
June:
- Janet Jackson with Nelly: Hollywood Casino Amphitheater June 21
An original member of the Jackson Five comes to St. Louis, performing with a local legend, Nelly.
- Cardinals Games: All Month at Busch Stadium
In June, the Cardinals will welcome the Colorado Rockies, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the San Francisco Giants, the Atlanta Braves, and the Cincinnati Reds to Busch Stadium. The team plans a plethora of promotional giveaways at the entrance in the month as well. Those include a Cardinals All Over Print shirt, a Larry Walker bobblehead, a Cardinals Decal, a Stan Musial tumbler, a St. Louis Stars hat, a mystery bobblehead, and an adult mystery-sized jersey.
- City FC Games: All Month at CITYPARK
In June, City FC welcomes three more teams into CITYPARK, as the Portland Timbers, Colorado Rapids, and Atlanta United FC are all scheduled to play in St. Louis that month.
- NASCAR Weekend at Gateway w/ Confluence Festival: June 2-4 World Wide Technology Raceway
For the third straight season, NASCAR comes to St. Louis in June, in conjunction with the annual Confluence Music Festival. The up-and-coming drivers of the sport take to the track Friday and Saturday for the Craftsman Truck Series Toyota 200 presented by CK Power. On Sunday, the stars of the NASCAR Cup Series will take to the track, as last year’s winner Kyle Busch will look to defend his crown again in 2024. The Confluence Music Festival will also have a plethora of artists performing throughout the weekend, including Big and Rich, Riley Green, Ludacris, and Adam Wainwright.
- Strawberry Festival: June 1-2 Kimmswick, Missouri
An annual tradition in South County, the Strawberry Festival is slated to be scheduled in the first days of June. The festival will have over 125 vendors, selling food, crafts, and other goods, including the namesake Strawberry Jam that the festival is known for.
- Pride Festival June 29-30 Downtown St. Louis
The annual Pride Festival will take place downtown as Pride Month comes to an end in June. Over the two-day celebration, food and commercial vendors will be set up, as well as live music, and a parade through the streets of downtown St. Louis.
- Battlehawks Game: June 1 at Dome at the America Center
The Battlehawks host one more home game in June, their last of the season depending on playoff eligibility. They host the San Antonio Brahmas on June 1, with kickoff coming at 3 pm. However, on June 16 the UFL league championship game will be hosted at the Dome as well, with the participating teams not yet determined. Kickoff for that game is slated for 4 pm.
- Les Miserables at The Muny June 17-23
One of the most popular Broadway shows comes to The Muny for a week in June. The play, based on Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel set in France, celebrates mega-musical follows the journey of Jean Valjean, an ex-convict seeking a fresh start, and his relentless pursuer, Javert. Its powerful songs and thrilling story of love, passion, sacrifice, and redemption have been beloved the world over for generations.
July:
- Red Hot Chili Peppers: Hollywood Casino Amphitheater July 30
Rockband Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre on July 30. They’ll share the stage with Otoboke Beaver and IRONTOM that night.
- Tate McRae: St. Louis Music Park July 30
Up-and-coming Canadian artist Tate McRae will perform in the St. Louis Music Park on July 30. The show will be a part of her THINK LATER tour.
- Disney’s The Little Mermaid at The Muny July 8-16
Disney’s The Little Mermaid comes to The Muny for a month in July, Howard Ashman and Alan Menken’s beloved tale centers on young Ariel, who yearns to venture beyond her underwater home and go where the people are, up on land. The enchanting musical includes tunes from Disney’s 1989 animated film, such as “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Poor Unfortunate Souls.”
- The Kid Laroi: July 9 at The Factory
Australian-born artist The Kid Laroi will make a tour stop in St. Louis this summer. He will perform at The Factory in Chesterfield on July 9.
- Cardinals Games All Month at Busch Stadium
The Cardinals have a smaller home schedule in July than in previous months, but the team still welcomes cross-state rival Kansas City Royals, the Chicago Cubs, the Washington Nationals, and the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers to town. The team plans to give away another Cardinals decal, a mystery jersey from the 2004 National League championship team, a Cardinals basketball jersey, and a Cardinals polo.
- City FC Games All Month at CITYPARK.
Like previous months, City FC will host three home games in July. The San Jose Earthquakes, the Vancouver Whitecaps, and FC Dallas are all slated to come to St. Louis to face off with City FC that month.
- Fair St. Louis: July 4 at Kiener Plaza
An annual St. Louis tradition, fair St. Louis honors many live music performances and free entertainment for all ages, including a firework display on the banks of the Mississippi River as the sun goes down.
- July 4th Celebrations at Multiple Locations
Around the St. Louis area, there are plenty of annual local Fourth of July celebrations, many of which include parades in the morning, and firework displays in the evening.
August:
- Creed: Hollywood Casino Amphitheater Aug. 9
A trio of rock bands comes to the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater on Aug. 9, headlined by Creed, popular for their song “Higher”. They’ll be joined on stage by 3 Doors Down and Finger Eleven.
- Green Day: Hollywood Casino Amphitheater Aug. 15
Green Day will perform in St. Louis on Aug. 15, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their album “Dookie” and 20 years since the album “American Idiot.” Performances by Rancid and The Linda Lindas will also take place at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre that evening.
- Cardinals Games All Month Busch Stadium
To round out the summer, the Cardinals welcome some heavy hitters to Busch Stadium in their penultimate month of the season. The Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Rays, and Milwaukee Brewers all head to Busch Stadium in August to face the Cardinals. The team will give away a Cardinals decal, a Turn Ahead the Clock jersey, a Cardinals belt bag, and a Scott Rolen bobblehead at the gates throughout the month.
- City FC Game Aug. 4 CITYPARK.
City FC only hosts one home game in Aug., as Juarez FC will come to St. Louis to play. The team is a part of the Mexican professional soccer league, called the LIGA MX.
- IndyCar at Gateway Aug. 17 World Wide Technology Raceway
The annual Bommarito Automotive Group 500 comes to St. Louis in the middle of Aug., as the stars of IndyCar will take to the mile-and-a-quarter World Wide Technology Raceway for the eighth consecutive season. Josef Newgarden has won four of those eight races, but it’ll be Scott Dixon who returns to the track this August to defend his crown from the 2023 race.
Of course, there are plenty of other options that aren’t limited time only around the area. The Arch, and other parks in the area, like the St. Louis Zoo, Forrest Park, and the City Museum are open all summer long.
