The Lindenwood football was blown out by Tennessee Tech 52-10 on Saturday afternoon, in a disappointing and ultimately lackluster performance from the Lions.
A week after their offense put up 49 points the team could only manage 10 points this week, as the Golden Eagles defense made it a point to stop this Lions offense right in its tracks. Lindenwood only managed 249 total yards, and their high-powered run game was only held to 68 total yards on 36 carries. Quarterback Nate Glantz finished 17 of 27 for 181 yards, with a touchdown and an interception that was returned for a pick-six. Steve Hall after having a career game last week was held to 28 yards on seven carries. Robert Gianomo led the Lions’ rushing attack, but was only able to tally 44 yards on his 10 carries. Jeff Caldwell led Lindenwood in receiving finishing with four catches for 50 yards. John Anthony and Darrin Fugitt each also had four catches tallying 46 and 45 yards respectively with Fugitt having the only touchdown on the day.
The Lions’ defense continues to struggle after having such a good start to the year, allowing 519 total yards and 400 rushing yards as five different Golden Eagles had rushing touchdowns on the day. Lindenwood will look to finish strong this season with two games remaining.
Lindenwood returns home next week for the final home game of the 2024 season as their senior day matchup will be in The MRV Banks Game Ball Brawl vs the #6 ranked Southeast Missouri State University Red Hawks with kickoff at 1 p.m.
