New York Jets 21, Houston Texans 13
Two fourth quarter touchdown passes from Aaron Rodgers propelled the Jets to a 21-13 win over the Texans to snap their five-game losing streak. Rodgers finished the game with 211 yards and three touchdowns, all coming in the second half. Davante Adamas had seven catches for 91 yards and a touchdown for the Jets as Adams appears to be getting more comfortable in the offense. Garrett Wilson had nine catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns including a highlight reel one-handed catch in the fourth quarter that had commentator Al Michaels reminiscing about Odell Beckam Jr’s one-handed catch all those years ago against the Cowboys. C.J. Stroud was 11 of 30 for 191 yards for the Texans, who played without injured receivers Stefon Diggs and Nico Collins. Tank Dell had six catches for 126 yards for Houston, as Dell appeared to be the only reliable target for Stroud as Dell led the team with nine targets. Joe Mixon had yet another solid game for Houston, having 106 yards and a rushing touchdown in the loss.
Atlanta Falcons 27, Dallas Cowboys 21
Kirk Cousins tossed three touchdown passes as the Falcons handed the Cowboys their third straight loss. The win helped strengthen the Falcons lead in the NFC South while the loss for Dallas was their third straight and puts them in further uncertainty about even making the playoffs this season. Cousins finished the game with 222 yards and three touchdowns. Darnell Mooney was Atlanta’s top receiver hauling in five passes for 88 yards and a score. Bijan Robinson also chipped in on the win rushing for 88 yards while also hauling in seven passes for 59 yards. To pour salt on the wound for Dallas, Dak Prescott left the game with a hamstring injury and was seen limping off the field once the game had ended. Also, star wide receiver Ceedee Lamb injured his right shoulder during the game, he did return, but was in visible pain. The Dallas offensive line also struggled giving up three sacks to the team with the least amount of sacks through eight weeks.
Buffalo Bills 30, Miami Dolphins 27
Tyler Bass redeemed himself Sunday afternoon by draining a 61-yard field goal with three seconds left to lift the Bills to a divisional win against the Miami Dolphins. The kick capped off an exciting back-and-forth affair between Josh Allen and Tua Tagovailoa. The teams traded leads four times and combined for seven consecutive scoring drives in the second half. Allen finished with 235 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in the win. He was down his top wide receiver in Amari Cooper but still found a way to get it done. The Bills have now win 13 of the last 14 meetings against Miami including nine in a row at Buffalo. Tua Tagovailoa kept his team in the game and finished with 231 yards and two touchdowns. De’Von Achane had a huge game rushing for 63 yards and a score while also catching eight passes for 58 yards and a score out of the backfield.
Cincinnati Bengals 41, Las Vegas Raiders 24
Joe Burrow tied his career high with five passing touchdowns as the Bengals destroyed the Raiders 41-24. Burrow finished with 251 yards, five touchdowns, and an interception as the Bengals won to improve to 4-5 and stay in the playoff hunt halfway through the season. Mike Gesicki led Cincinnati in receiving finishing with five catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Chase Brown had a huge game in the win, having a career high 27 rushes for 120 yards. He also caught five passes for 37 yards and a touchdown. Las Vegas continues to struggle, eventually benching Gardner Minshew in favor of Desmond Ridder late in the game. Jakobi Meyers caught eight passes for 105 yards. Brock Bowers hauled in five passes for 45 yards and a score as the rookie continues his stellar campaign.
Los Angeles Chargers 27, Cleveland Browns 10
Justin Herbert threw two touchdowns and JK Dobbins rushed for two touchdowns as the Chargers halted Jameis Winston and the Cleveland Browns right in their tracks. Herbert finished with 282 yards and two touchdowns, and Dobbins rushed for 85 yards and two scores of his own. Quentin Johnston hauled in four passes for 118 yards and a score. Winston was sacked six times by the Chargers defense and only threw for 235 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions. Cedric Tillman had another nice game finishing with six catches for 75 yards and a score. Myles Garrett was the lone bright spot on Cleveland’s defense finishing with three sacks.
Tennessee Titans 20, New England Patriots 17
Nick Folk drilled a 25-yard field goal in overtime to lift the Titans to a 20-17 win over Drake Maye and the Patriots. Tennessee finished with four sacks and three turnovers turned into a touchdown from a defense that came in leading the NFL in both the fewest yards allowed and passing yards. Tennessee came in with one of the NFL’s worst offenses in several categories, and the Titans needed overtime to score more than 17 points for only the second time this season. Mason Rudolph led Tennessee with 240 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick. Tony Pollard had 128 rushing yards in the win. Drake Maye finished with 206 yards, a touchdown, and two picks, the last pick was a critical one in overtime that set up Folk’s game winner. Maye’s one touchdown came on the last play of regulation when Maye drove the Patriots to the Titans five yard line, then scrambled around looking for someone to get open. He took 11.82 seconds to throw the ball before eventually finding Rhamondre Stevenson for the game tying score.
Washington Commanders 27, New York Giants 22
Jayden Daniels used both his arms and legs as he led the Commanders to a 27-22 win over the Giants to improve their record to 7-2, their best start since 1996. Daniels finished with 209 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 35 yards. Both touchdown passes went to star wide receiver Terry McLaurin. Austin Seibert, who kicked seven field goals in the Commanders’ 21-18 win in September, added two more, and linebacker Dante Fowler had a big strip-sack early to set up the opening touchdown. The Giants have lost four straight, and fell to 0-5 at home. Daniel Jones threw a two-yard touchdown pass to tight end Chris Manhertz and powered his way through two tackles on a two-yard fourth-quarter touchdown run for New York. He added a late 35-yard touchdown pass to rookie Theo Johnson, but the Giants missed both two-point conversion attempts.
Carolina Panthers 23, New Orleans Saints 22
Chuba Hubbard ran for two touchdowns and Bryce Young led the Panthers on a late game winning drive as the Panthers snapped their losing streak and extended the Saints losing streak to seven games. Young finished with 171 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Hubbard rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns including the go-ahead 16-yard scoring burst with 2:18 remaining. Alvin Kamara rushed for 155 yards and caught six passes for 60 yards out the backfield, but it wasn’t enough as the loss ended with the Saints firing head coach Dennis Allen. Another blow for New Orleans was star wide receiver Chris Olave left with a serious concussion early in the game. The Saints needing only a field goal to win, started at the 20 but didn’t get far. The Panthers defense stiffened, with Jadeveon Clowney making a big sack on second down. Dane Jackson then broke up Carr’s fourth-and-four pass along the left sideline to Cedrick Wilson to seal it.
Baltimore Ravens 41, Denver Broncos 10
Lamar Jackson had another MVP performance early in this season as he led the Ravens to a convincing win over the Broncos. Jackson finished with a perfect passer rating, 280 yards, and three touchdowns. Derrick Henry also continues his stellar season and continues to be a lethal combo with Jackson as Henry finished with 106 yards and two touchdowns, including his 100th career rushing touchdown. Zay Flowers had a huge day also for Baltimore hauling in five passes for 127 yards and two scores. Henry has scored in every game this season, and he is the third player to manage at least 10 rushing touchdowns in seven consecutive years, joining LaDainian Tomlinson and Adrian Peterson. Denver had allowed only two teams to reach 20 points this season, but the matchup with Baltimore’s powerful offense did not go well. Bo Nix and the offense for Denver weren’t able to keep pace with Baltimore’s offense. Cortland Sutton was the lone bright spot hauling in seven passes for 122 yards. Bo Nix struggled against Baltimore but continues to show improvement week to week.
Philadelphia Eagles 28, Jacksonville Jaguars 23
Saquan Barkley continues to carry the Eagles offense and shine with his new team as he led the Eagles to a 28-23 over the Jaguars. Barkley finished with 159 yards and a touchdown rushing while hauling in three passes for 40 yards and an additional score. The Eagles lost A.J. Brown to a knee injury at halftime but Devonta Smith stepped up hauling in four passes for 87 yards and a score. Jalen Hurts finished with 230 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 67 yards and a score on the ground. The Eagles held on after coach Nick Sirianni wasted chances to put easy points on the board. The Eagles went 0 for 2 on fourth down and were 0 for 3 on two-point conversions, forcing them to let Jake Elliott try a 57-yard field goal with 2:16 left. Elliott missed, giving the Jaguars the ball at their own 47-yard line. Trevor Lawrence after finding his team down 22-0 led a valiant attempt at a comeback but threw a pick to Nakobe Dean on the Jaguars final drive. Lawrence finished with 169 yards and two interceptions but rushed for two touchdowns. Travon Walker also had a fumble recovery for a touchdown for Jacksonville but it wasn’t enough as the Jaguars came up just short.
Arizona Cardinals 29, Chicago Bears 9
The Bears fell to 0-18 in road games on Sunday under coach Matt Eberflus, as the Cardinals dismantled the Bears 29-9. The Cardinals outrushed Chicago 213-69 as three different Cardinals had a rushing touchdown. The Cardinals defense also had six sacks, five tackles for loss, four pass deflections and 12 quarterback hits as the Bears dropped their second straight game. Caleb Williams struggled for the second consecutive week, finishing with only 217 yards. Rome Odunze had five catches for 104 yards in the loss for Chicago.
Detroit Lions 24, Green Bay Packers 14
Detroit proved on Sunday afternoon in the rain in Green Bay that the NFC is going to run through them, as the Lions beat their divisional rivals 24-14 in convincing fashion. The Lions extended their streak of having more touchdown passes the last five weeks than incompletions, as Jared Goff had yet another game finishing with a better than 80% completion percentage. Goff finished 18 of 22 for 145 yards and a score. Jamhyr Gibbs added a score on the ground and Amon-Ra St Brown hauled in seven passes for 56 yards and a score in the win for Detroit. Kerby Joseph also scored on a 27-yard interception return late in the first half as that was just one of the many mistakes committed by Green Bay in the loss. The Packers outgained the Lions 411 yards to 261 but wasted several opportunities. Green Bay drove inside Detroit’s 35-yard line on three possessions without scoring. The Packers’ four trips to the red zone resulted in one touchdown and two field goals. Jordan Love finished with 273 yards and an interception. Green Bay as a team had six drops that killed a lot of drives as the Packers outgained the Lions 411-261.
Los Angeles Rams 26, Seattle Seahawks 20
Demarcus Robinson hauled in a one handed 39-yard touchdown pass in overtime as the Rams won their third straight game this time over Geno Smith and Seattle. Matthew Stafford threw a beautiful ball on the throw to Robinson and finished with 298 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Stafford overcame losing Puka Nacua, who was ejected for punching a Seattle defender. Cooper Kupp stepped up in his absence hauling in 11 passes for 104 yards. Robinson hauled in six passes for 94 yards and two scores in the absence of Nacua. The Seahawks drove to the Rams 16 on the opening possession of overtime and went for it on fourth-and-one instead of trying a field goal. Bobby Brown III and Omar Speights stopped Kenneth Walker III for no gain, setting up Stafford and the Rams’ offense. Geno Smith passed for 363 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions for the Seahawks, who have lost four straight at home and five of six overall to fall into last place in the bunched-up NFC West. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had seven catches for a career-best 180 yards and two scores.
Minnesota Vikings 21, Indianapolis Colts 13
A huge second half from Sam Darnold led the Vikings to a 21-13 win over the Colts snapping their brief two game losing streak. Darnold finished with 290 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions, and had a fumble that was returned for a Colts touchdown. He was also sacked four times but did enough to power his team to victory. Justin Jefferson hauled in seven passes for 137 yards and Jordan Addison made a one-handed diving grab in the back corner of the end zone to get Minnesota on the board after a sloppy and scoreless first half, and Jalen Nailor had the tiebreaking touchdown reception to help the Vikings. Joe Flacco, who replaced the benched Anthony Richardson, failed to lead the Colts to victory finishing with only 179 yards and an interception. Flacco moved the Colts to the Minnesota 40 midway through the fourth quarter facing a 14-10 deficit, but Harrison Smith broke up consecutive passes to force a turnover on downs.
Kansas City Chiefs 30, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24
The Chiefs remained undefeated Monday night with a 30-24 overtime victory over the Buccaneers on the backs of a vintage Patrick Mahomes performance. Mahomes with 291 yards and three touchdowns. Kareem Hunt continues to do everything the Chiefs ask of him and after struggling to get the running game going in the first half found his stride finishing with 106 yards and the game winning score in overtime. Deandre Hopkins, in his second game with Kansas City, finished with eight catches for 86 yards and two scores including an insane catch in triple coverage that set up his first touchdown. Travis Kelce had another huge game for the Chiefs hauling in 14 passes for 100 yards. Baker Mayfield finished with 200 yards and two touchdowns as his favorite target yet again was Cade Otton who finished with eight catches for 77 yards and a score. The Buccaneers had a chance to take the lead if they elected to go for two points after scoring a touchdown with 27 seconds remaining but Todd Bowles elected to kick the extra point and play for overtime where they lost the coin toss and Mahomes orchestrated a 10-play drive to score the game winning touchdown to move the Chiefs to 8-0.
Week 10 kicks off on Thursday night with an AFC North showdown, as Joe Burrow and the Bengals look to keep their season alive as they head to face the red hot Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. The week concludes on Monday Night as the Dolphins head out west to face Matthew Stafford and the Rams.
