This past weekend, Lindenwood University hosted the Missouri State High School boys soccer finals at Hunter Stadium, hosting four separate classes of soccer throughout the three-day tournament.
The tournament was moved to Lindenwood after flooding in Fenton forced the MSHAA to move locations.
In the class one tournament, Valley Park was able to rout St. Pius X to claim the championship after going 25-3 in the regular season. Valley Park was able to defeat Metro in the quarterfinals and New Heights Christian Academy in the semifinals.
In the second class, Clayton was able to put an end to Orchard Farm’s season, giving them a championship honor after going 20-4 in the regular season. En route to their championship, Clayton beat Lutheran South in the quarterfinals and Logan-Rogersville in the semifinals.
In the class three matchup, Ladue Horton Watkins defeated St. Francis Borgia after a 23-6 regular season. Ladue went through Hannibal in the quarterfinals and Van Horn in the semifinals to reach the championship game. Ladue beat St. Francis Borgia 3-0 in the championship game.
In the final of the four classes, class four, SLUH was able to defeat De Smet Jesuit after an 18-6-3 regular season record. They beat Liberty in Wentzville in the quarterfinals and De Smet Jesuit in the semifinals before the victory over De Smet. For SLUH, they won the game over De Smet, and claim their first title since 2003.
