The Scheidegger Center needs help decorating for Christmas this year. They have been decorating since the building opened eight years ago.
According to Academic Production Manager and Head of Stage Management in the Scheidegger Center Stacy Blackburn, the center has been decorated by student workers, some volunteers, and a few faculty and staff.
Each year, everyone who helped decorate was divided up into teams in order to tackle various areas of the building.
Blackburn pulled out a large binder, filled with photos and instructions for decorating, from her desk and said, “Every team has its team leader that has done it before, we give them the pictures and they go to work”.
“This year, we are opening it up to all members of LSGA (Lindenwood Student Government Association),” said Blackburn. “We have asked them to come help.”
LSGA has offered student organizations points to come help decorate for Christmas. Most of the help, however, is coming from theatre students and volunteers. Anyone can help in the process.
“We will take anyone,” said Blackburn.
According to Blackburn, 40 to 60 people were needed to decorate in years past. With this number of people, decorating the building takes approximately six hours.
“This year, so far, we have 29 signed up.”
Decorating will commence this Saturday.
Any student that is interested in helping is encouraged to stop by Stacy’s office, located in the Scheidegger Center, or send her an email at [email protected].
